Newburyport closed out its CAL schedule in style going undefeated in the Clippers last seven matches, the team beat Amesbury, 4-2, with only a game against Methuen remaining on the schedule.
Tom Svirsky led the goal-scoring barage with a goal and two assists, Tyler Stotz had a goal and an assist, Connor Lynch scored a goal, Thayer Adsit scored a goal, Jeff Jones had an assist, and Ethan Machurat had an assist. On the Indians side Chris Youngs scored a penalty kick.
Newburyport coach Dave Greenblott said his team has played real well, but needs to work on keeping its leads after going up 3-0 on Amesbury and letting the Indians come back to 3-2. The Clippers lost leads and earned ties in previous matches against Pentucket, Lynnfield, and Triton this season.
