Haverhill's Keith May won the 1,000 meters at the MSTCA Winter Festival at Reggie Lewis Track and it was no ordinary win.
He ran the final 200 in an impressive 30 seconds to take first in 2:37.17. He almost didn't get a chance to even compete.
May was inadvertantly scratched. Hillie coach Mike Maguire was thankful meet directors were gracious and scrambled to get him in, albeit as just the No. 15 seed.
"I’m thankful that the meet directors were eager to resolve the mistake," said Maguire.
Hillie Kayla Kitchings continues to show her considerable talent, winning the 55 hurdles in 8.90. Haverhill got an eighth from Brianna Harrington with a big 10-second personal best in the mile in 5:37.68. Sean Glass was sixth in the
