Andover spotted Central Catholic a goal in the first half and then scored three straight before holding on in a pouring rain for a 3-2 victory between two of the top teams in the area. Julia Carzo, Katherine Furry and Kate Gregory scored for the Warriors and Emma Farnham and freshman Hannah Medwar had assists.
"It was a good first game — they have some outstanding players," said Andover coach Maureen Noone. "For a freshman, Hannah Medwar looked very good and Emma Farnham was great defensively."
Kaylee Thomas scored twice for Central and Casey Thompson had two assists.
