Pentucket had a brilliant performance to place second in the championship race at the Frank Kelley Invitational in Wrentham. The Sachems (142 points) were second to Wakefield (120).

Pentucket coach Darrel Cox said, "With these guys, there are always a lot of firsts for me. These guys have just risen to great heights. They work so tightly together when racing and training it's a delight."

Five of the Sachems were within 45 seconds over the 5K course with Peter Lopata (13th, 16:30) and Nick Murphy (15th, 16:44) the two big stars
