PELHAM — In one of the strangest games you'll ever come across, Pelham upset Hollis-Brookline, 6-0.
The lone score was a 70-yard punt return by Charlie Katin just 2:14 into the contest.
Then it was the ultimate defensive slugfest. The host Pythons (4-3) rushed 44 times for 2 yards with Brett Lindsay leading with 30 carries for 35 yards. The other three rushers all had negative yardage.
But Pelham's defense was just as ferocious, holding Hollis-Brookline (5-2) in check throughout. An H-B club which had averaged 38.5 points in its previous four games.
With such defensive domination, you might expect the game to be played in torrential rains or heavy snow. Nope, perfect night for football.
This isn't anything new for Pelham, which has posted three straight shutout wins.
Obviously, there were a host of defensive stars for the winners including Lindsay (2 interceptions, 1 sack), Ed Shlimon (2 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries) and Jack Kirane (2 sacks).
