Odds and ends: Matt Regan returns as head coach after taking a year off. Last year's coach, Roger Sampson, has taken over as head coach at Nashua North. ... The Pythons won one game in each of their first two varsity seasons then improved to four victories last spring. ...  Newcomer Ryan Ormsby, a soccer player out for the first time, has impressed in the preseason. ... Pelham played well against bigger schools at the Nashua Jamboree. ... Junior Andrew Keegan is in his third year as the starting goalie and had a fine 66 percent save percentage last year. ... Junior Nick Barrett returns to the program after taking last year off. ... The 27 candidates for the team is by far the largest in four years.

Coach Matt Regan (1st year): "We haven't made the playoffs yet, so that's our first goal, but I'll be disappointed if we don't make it. And, if we're not a low seed, we could do something. We have a strong junior class who started with me as freshmen. (Juniors) Mike Woonton, Sean Paradis and C.J. Ziogas are very good and (R.J.) Riddinger is a leader on defense."
