As the final seconds of regularion ticked away, Michelle Poirier swung a pass to Abbie Karalis, who fired a shot home with just two seconds in the game, giving North Andover a 9-8 thrilling victory over archrival Andover.

"It was just awesome," said Scarlet Knights coach Meredith Prior. "The girls went crazy. I had to yell to them to get off the field because there was still two seconds left to play."

North Andover  led Andover by a goal at halftime, but the Golden Warriors opened the second half with four straight goals to take an 8-5 lead.

But back came the Scarlet Knights. Courtney Karelas opened the rally with 6:15 left in the game, and Karalis followed with a goal at the 3:15 mark.

With 1:15 remaining in regulation, Poirier scored to lock the score up at 8-8.

Andover was able to win the ensuing draw, but star Leah Chittick swooped in to cause a turnover. Olivia Pino then moved the ball to Poirier, who then found Karalis for the game-winner.

Karalis and Poirier each scored a team-high three goals. The Knights also starred with Dominique Goodman and Emily Sauls each making big plays.

"I think this win shows how much heart this team has," said Prior. "We can come back from anything. This is the second time we fell behind Andover and rallied to beat them. It was just a great performance."
