Jeff Reddy and the Methuen boys cross country team made a statement Saturday at the Bay State Invitational as both placed first in the Kevin Maloney Division.

Reddy was the individual winner, in 16:04.48 on Franklin Park's 5K course, and the Rangers breezed to the title with just 30 points, far ahead of runner-up Hamilton-Wenham. Matt Marchand was fourth in 16:37.82, and Methuen took five of the top 10 places.

"Anytime you get five in the top 10, you're doing pretty good," said coach Bill James. "It was a very good day for us."
