Whittier showed its best depth of the season and came away with the title at the 10-team Dan Gionet tournament in Pelham. The Wildcats didn't crown one champion, but they had eight placers, led by runners-up Garret Gadd (125) and Corey Chabuz (heavyweight).
Host Pelham was runner-up, led by champions Mike Perruccio (112) and Billy Sullivan (135) and runner-up Jake Corbin (189). It was Perruccio's second tourney crown of the year. Pentucket, in third, was sparked by 189-pound champ Ben Stasiuk, who pinned his way through the tournament and was named Outstanding Wrestler. Also for the Sachems, Brian Cormier was first at 160 and Brian Pigott was second at 171. For Georgetown/Ipswich, Jay Nemeroff was second at 160 and Dean Nemeroff was runner-up at 135.
