Pinkerton kept firing shots on goal, but every one of them ended up finding the goalie's pads.
"We generated enough chances to win the game," said Astros coach Casey Kesselring. "We just didn't bear down near the net. We need to do better about scoring goals. We have to go hard and not let up."
Despite putting 14 more shots on goal than Spaulding, Pinkerton could not find the back of the net and fell to the Division 2 powerhouse Red Raiders, 3-0.
"We came out with a slow start," said Kesselring, "and it was one of those games we just couldn't buy a goal. They're goalie stopped everything we threw at him."
Coming off a tough loss to Timberlane, which snapped its 46-game Division 2 unbeaten streak, Spaulding relied upon goaltender John Cote, who made a whopping 37 saves.
