Pitcher Devan Doucette doubled, stole third and scored on a wild pitch in the top of the seventh for the winning run in Whittier's 3-2 victory over Blackstone in the championship game of the State Vocational Tournament. Doucette also allowed just four hits and struck out five in six innings to earn the victory.
Nathan Frongillo manufactured a key run in the fifth for the Wildcats. He walked, stole second and third, and when the catcher threw to third the ball went into left field and Frongillo ran home.
