The Greater Lawrence boys cross country team is back on top of the Commonwealth Conference and it's back in overwhelming fashion.
The Reggies, who last won the CAC crown in 2007, put four runners in the top seven and won with just 27 points, comfortably ahead of runner-up Greater Lowell (44). Shawsheen, which had won the last four years, came in third.
"This is by far our lowest point total," said Greater Lawrence coach Jay Santomassino. "We had a lot of guys who really have improved."
Perhaps no Reggie improved more than senior newcomer Zach Healey, who took seventh in 18:01. It was the first time all year that he was the team's No. 4 runner.
Sophomore Yosvaldy Tejeda remained undefeated on the year, placing first in 17:17 while senior Hansel Santo-Lara came in third (17:25) and sophomore Brad Andrews was fifth (17:44). Saul Ortega was the Reggies' fifth man, in 11th.
