Knotted 2-2 in the seventh with Lynn Classical, North Reading erupted for four runs to capture the title in the Nipper Clancy Tournament at Fraser Field in Lynn yesterday.
Gritty sophomore Keith Linnane drew a bases-loaded walk to break the tie, and Kyle Boucher added the insurance by smoking a two-run single to power the Hornets in the seventh.
Junior Ryan McAuliffe moved to 7-2 on the year with the complete-game win, striking out nine and walking nobody in the five-hitter.
