Colby Maiola's two-out, two-run single in the top of the ninth propelled North Reading to a 3-1 win over St. Mary's in the first round of the Niiper Clancy Tourney at Lynn's Fraiser Field.
The Hornets (15-4) advance to this afternoon's championship game againt Lynn Classical.
Mailola also did it with his glove as he made three terrific catches to keep North Reading in the game. "Those were probably three of the best catches that I have ever seen," said North Reading coach Frank Carey.
Ryan Warnock was oustanding on the mound, working all nine inniings, striking out 10 and scattering four hits.
