The Ipswich girls basketball team picked up a huge win yesterday afternoon and Amber Smith broke the school's all-time scoring record in the process. Quite simply, it was a great night for the Tigers.
The Tigers improved to 16-3 with a 71-59 win over Lynn English in the Spartan Classic at St. Mary's Lynn. Meanwhile, Amber Smith netted 27 points to reach a career mark of 1,283, breaking the previous Ipswich record held by Jen Usher (1,263). Smith added 12 rebounds for a double-double on the historic afternoon. Audrey Shaughnessy scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
