Skarbelis scores twice, Scarlet Knights advance

Zach Karalis lofted a 25-yard pass to Mike Skarbelis, and the sophomore finished off a beautiful goal with seven minutes left in the game to give No. 5 North Andover a  2-1 comeback victory over No. 12 Dracut in the Division 2 North first round.

"It was a perfect long pass from Karalis," said Scarlet Knights coach Bill Tarbox. "And Mike took the ball through two defenders and beat the goalie for the winner."

North Andover advanced to host No. 20 Wayland tomorrow at 7 p.m.

The Scarlet Knights trailed 1-0 at halftime, but Skarbelis tied the game with 12 minutes to play off an assist from Alex Morin.

Also starring for the Knights were midfielders Timmy Chiang and Tory Gabriello, forward Dennis Graef and defenders Connor Boudreau and Dan Connelly.
