HAVERHILL — With a landmark victory over Methuen/Tewksbury in the books, and a senior day matchup with rival Andover just days away, was the Haverhill/Pentucket/North Andover girls hockey team in danger of a let-down  against Masconomet on Saturday night?

It was a victory seven years in the making, and the Haverhill/Pentucket/North Andover co-op girls hockey team reached the milestone in dramatic fashion.

Eliana Kane hauled in a pass at the far blue line, broke past two defenders and fired a shot home with 0:20 left in the game, giving HPNA its first ever victory over defending Division 1 state champion Methuen/Tewksbury, 3-2 on Wednesday night at Haverhill High.

Hannah Keating and Eliana Kane each scored a goal as Haverhill/Pentucket/North Andover girls hockey stayed unbeaten, topping Westford Academy 2-1. HPNA is now 14-0-2 on the season.

The Haverhill/Pentucket/North Andover hockey team captured its third straight lopsided victory, 9-1 over Beverly. Led by Reese Pascucci's two goals, eight different players scored for HPNA (12-0-2), which has outscored its last three opponents 24-1.

The Haverhill/Pentucket/North Andover girls hockey team continued to roll, blanking Central Catholic 7-0. Hannah Keating and Eliana Kane both scored twice for HPNA and Jenny Hubbard got her second shutout in two games and fourth of the season.

The surging HPNA girls hockey team (10-0-2) had no trouble with Concord Carlisle, romping to an 8-0 win as six different players scored. Hannah Keating and Reese Pascucci both scored twice.

The Haverhill/Pentucket/North Andover girls clinched a playoff spot with a 4-2 win over Reading. HPNA (9-0-2), led by Morgan Whitlocks' two goals and an assist showed some of its best balance of the season as three different players scored and seven different players assisted.

The HPNA hockey team scored four goals in the third period to pull away from a strong Peabody/Lynnfield/North Reading team, 5-1. Hannah Keating scored twice for HPNA, which remained unbeaten (7-0-2)

METHUEN - Jessica Driscoll wasn't quite sure how the puck ended up on her stick, but she knew just what to do.

"I have no idea who passed it to me," said the Methuen/Tewksbury sophomore. "But I got it and I thought, ‘I might as well shoot it. There's nothing to lose.' So I took the shot, and it went in. It was so exciting. That is one of our biggest rivals, so to score the last goal is amazing."

The HPNA girls hockey team keeps winning, and that's been in large part thanks to the scoring prowess of Hannah Keating. The senior notched her second hat trick in three games to lead her team to a 4-2 win over Acton-Boxboro.
