Trailing by 6 at the half, North Reading went on a 14-0 run, sparked by three 3-pointers in a row (Nick Rosano, P.J. Dionne, Dave Vollor) in a two-minute span. The Hornets cruised from there, downing Wilmington, 76-69. It's believed to be their first win over the Cats in 12 years.

North Reading junior Nick Rosano has three 3-pointers in the first quarter to propel the Hornets (7-2) to an early 24-14 lead on their way to a 69-48 victory over Amesbury. Junior center Dave Giannattasio, in his first start, had 10 points and eight rebounds.

P.J. Dionne erupted for a game-high 24 points, and recorded a key steal midway through the fourth to spark North Reading in a 66-63 victory over Bishop Fenwick.

P.J. Dion's steal with 17 seconds left sealed North Reading's 50-46 comeback win over Pentucket. The Hornets trailed by as many as 12 in the first half and surrendered 33 points before the break. But in the second half, Pentucket was limited to just 13 points (three in the third quarter).   Nick and Bob Roano sparked the win defensively. 

Despite another outstanding offensive performance from P.J. Dionne, North Reading fell to Hamilton-Wenham, 60-56. After a 28-point opening-night performance, Dionne followed up with 26 against the Generals but costly team turnovers and poor free throw shooting did in the Hornets (1-1).

After shaking off a rough first quarter, North Reading cruised to a 65-51 win over Ipswich, giving Hornet head coach Joe Casey his 100th career victory. P.J. Dionne scored a game-high 28 points and Nick Rossano added 12.
