Andover's softball team not only lost to Chelmsford 4-0 but it may have lost shortstop Meg Leary for the season when she was hit in the hand by a pitch in the last inning. Prior to that, she and third baseman Jordan Day played well defensively against the powerful Lions.

Hunt scattered seven hits to pick up her first career win, and left fielder Nicole Ericson squashed a Lowell rally by throwing a runner out at home to end the fourth inning.
