Andover's softball team not only lost to Chelmsford 4-0 but it may have lost shortstop Meg Leary for the season when she was hit in the hand by a pitch in the last inning. Prior to that, she and third baseman Jordan Day played well defensively against the powerful Lions.
Read More »Junior Meaghan Leary's two-run single in the third inning gave Andover just enough offense, and sophomore Cassandra Hunt silenced Lowell's bats just enough to take home a 3-2 victory. Hunt scattered seven hits to pick up her first career win, and left fielder Nicole Ericson squashed a Lowell rally by throwing a runner out at home to end the fourth inning.
