Andover boys skiers finish unbeaten

For the first time in Tom Busta's 11 years as head coach, the Andover boys ski team finished the regular season undefeated (10-0) after whipping Masconomet 104.5-30.5 yesterday. Sophomore Nick Sherman led the way, finishing second overall, Adam Risman tied for fifth and freshman Matt Cummings tied for eighth.

Owls flying high

Billy Armstrong finished fifth in the slalom and sixth in the giant slalom and Christine Robichaud finished second in the slalom and fourth in the giant slalom to lead the Timberlane boys and girls ski teams, who finished second overall in both their meets.

Coming on strong

The young Andover ski team is maturing quickly. While improving to 7-0, the Warriors whipped short-handed North Andover 93 1/2 to 41 1/2 and perennial power St. John's Prep, 80-55. Nick Sherman, Eric Heath and Matt Cummings wenr 3-4-5 to lead the way.

Andover 171, St. John's Prep 153, North Andover 0

Eric Heath placed third overall in 19.79 as Andover took four of the top 10 spots on its way to downing reigning state champion St. John's Prep 171-153. Nick Sherman (fourth), Nick Binder (20.15) and Adam Carrington (20.17) also exceled for the Golden Warriors.
