Pentucket (21-1) avenged its only loss of the year but it wasn't easy. The Sachems downed Notre Dame of Hingham 40-38 in double-overtime. In her first varsity appearance, Bella Doyle had four points and played some key minutes and Kelsi McNamara had a team-high 12 points.

Colleen Jameson scored 15 points on five 3-pointers for Pentucket in a 66-57 loss to Notre Dame of Hingham. Four of the treys came in the fourth quarter.

 Sidney Seo, Lauren D'Entremont, Beth Dunbar and Maxie Zimmerman opened the meet with a winning effort in the relay, then went on to dominate as North Andover defeated Notre Dame Academy, 93-90. Ashley Richard of Haverhill helped Notre Dame to one of its only two victories, swimming the lead leg on the 400 free relay.

Methuen divers Aryanna Poirier and Chantal Cornu both posted sectional qualifying dives as the Rangers won every event in a 96-84 pasting of Notre Dame.

Central Catholic javelin thrower Ryan Doherty and North Andover's 4x800 relay squad brought home state sectional titles from the Eastern Mass. Division 2 meet held in Hingham.

Central Catholic's Madison Arndt took top honors in the pole vault at the Eastern Mass. Division 2 meet, soaring 10-6 to help the Raiders place fourth as a team. The 4x400 relay team of Taylor DePalo, Kylie Regan, Katie Equi and Alexa Poulin also pitched in with a second place finish.

With the meet to be decided on the final match of the day, Alexa Glover took No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-4 to give Central Catholic a 3-2 victory over Notre Dame.

After losing eight games in a row, Lina Nguyen turned things around. Breaking serve while trailing 5-4, Nguyen won out for a thrilling 7-5 third-set victory that lifted Methuen tennis to a 3-2 victory over Notre Dame of Tyngsboro.
