Gloucester golf makes it six in a row with win over Winthrop

After a somewhat slow start to the season (3-4), the Fishermen (9-4) have ripped off six straight wins after their latest victory at Bass Rocks over the Vikings.

When asked about his team's recent hot streak, Gloucester coach Bob MacEachern pointed out, "different guys have been pitching in. Salah has been winning by a lot. The players kids down the end of the order have won which shows that the team depth has been good."

The Fishermen picked up a much needed win improving their record to 7-4 on the season. Josh Salah lead the way for Gloucester shooting a one under par 34. The Gloucester softball team got just about everything they needed to win yesterday's matchup with Winthrop.

The Fishermen received a solid start from pitcher Jill Lukegord, good defense and a number of tough at-bats against one of the Northeastern Conference's top pitchers in Kristen Finn. Gloucester even entered the seventh inning with a one-run lead.
