Emily Pontes had three hits, scored a pair and flashed the leather defensively while Jillian Tentindo contributed a pair of hits. North Shore led big early and survived a late Minuteman rally.

The Bulldogs committed three errors in a fifth inning that saw Minuteman push seven runs across the plate to hand North Shore (4-1) its first loss, 10-8. Jen Abbott, Meghan Hovan and Stephanie Rudis each scored a pair of runs and Nicole Tower added an RBI as North Shore plated four runs in the top of the seventh and had the tying run in scoring position before making the game's final out.

The Rockport hockey team got some good news and some bad news last night.

The good news was that the Vikings snapped its three game winless streak with a 1-1 tie against Minuteman yesterday at the Dorothy Talbot Rink.

Greater Lawrence continued to roll, blasting Minuteman 66-6. The Reggies (4-0) had an astonishing 11 first-period pins. Franchesco Ortiz had the fastest pin of the day, in 30 seconds at 119.

GEORGETOWN | Georgetown looked unstoppable while Minuteman Regional looked as sloppy as the waterlogged field.

The Royals ran the ball at will and their defense was simply dominant as they rolled to their sixth straight victory, 42-20, despite the relentless cold rain and strong winds that were present the entire afternoon.

Head coach Mike Drouin felt North Shore Tech played its best game of the season against Minuteman Regional Saturday in Lexington. But it still wasn't enough as it dropped a 28-27 decision.

"It's the worst feeling yet," said Drouin. "It's an emotional game and the kids really feel it after this one." The Bulldogs lost despite a sensational game by Cam White, who set a school record for most touchdown receptions (4) and most yards (203) by a receiver. North Shore Tech quarterback David St. Pierre also set a school mark with four TD passes. White, meanwhile, finished with eight catches.

Jessica Brasil scored her second goal 20 minutes into the second half and that was the difference as PMA beat Minuteman, 4-3. Stephanie Mitrano also scored twice and Lee Ann Walker anchored the defense.

Dominating an outmatched and winless Minuteman squad on route to an eventual 40-8 victory, Greater Lawrence Tech' s standout running back Nate Adames suffered a knee injury late in the first half that required him to be carried off the field. He stayed for the remainder of the contest, using crutches with ice on his left knee.
