Madison Solt threw a nifty one-hitter, striking out 11, and Madison Burns had two hits and two RBIs as Salem softball stayed unbeaten (7-0) with a 3-1 victory over Winnacunnet. 

Liam Doyle struck out 16 in just six innings and allowed just three hits as Pinkerton clipped Winnacunnet 5-1. Colby Bernier and Reilly Beaulieu had two RBIs apiece for the Astros (6-1).

Maria Killian and Morgan Ross both scored four goals as Windham's girls handed Winnacunnet its first loss, 16-12.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. — Bryant blitzed Merrimck in women's lacrosse, 19-7. For the 2-9 Warriors, Taylor Darrell (2 goals, assists) and Haley Bartlett (goal, assist) shined. For 5-5 Bryant, freshman Lily Auger from Pinkerton and senior Emma Lindquist from Windham each had a goal.

Drew Denton had a hat trick and Nate Levine and Sawyer Hall scored twice each as Windham fell in overtime to Winnacunnet, 9-8.

Chloe Hall had a breakout game with 5 goals and Maria Killian added 4 goals as Windham won its first game of the season, 13-9 over Winnacunnet.

HAMPTON — In the Division 1 state finals, the Windham boys soccer team left little for chance.

After two heart-stopping victories in the quarterfinalls and semifinals, the Jaguars scored three first-half goals, which were more than enough in a 3-0 victory over host Winnacunnet to finish as unbeaten (11-0-1) state champions.

Timberlane's field hockey team knocked off perennial power Winnacunnet 1-0 in the first round of the Division 1 tournament. Delaney Condon scored the lone goal in the first minute of the game and goalie Brandi Gerard stook out in goal with 15 saves. The Owls, who lost to the same team a week ago, will play in the regional semifinals Saturday afternoon.
