Big win for Owls

The Timberlane boys soccer team made a big statement as the playoffs draw closer, taking down previously one-loss Hanover 2-0. Michael Giangregorio and Matthew Barney were the goal scorers, and Dimitri Kakouris pitched his fifth shutout of the year for the Owls (7-2-2).

Lisauskas hits milestone

Pinkerton junior Lauren Lisauskas notched the 100th goal of her career as she led Pinkerton to a 19-14 win over Hanover. Lisauskas had seven goals and four assists to lead the way, while Zoe Howe had four scores and Kiley Davis and Lily Auger each added three.

Graves' big day

Pinkerton track standout Amelia Graves scored in all four of her events during Saturday's meet at Dartmouth, helping the Astros take second as a team. She won the 300, came in second in the 55-meter dash and anchored both the winning 4x400 and 4x200 relay team. Other Astros who won events were Emily Lesburt in the high jump, Adrianna Buccieri in the shot put and Macy Graves in the 600m.

Salem falls in heartbreaker

Salem's Brian English tied the game with four minutes left in regulation. But No. 3 Handover scored with just under a minute left to beat the No. 11 Blue Devils 2-1 in the New Hampshire Division 1 quarterfinals.
 
Blue Devils (10-8) goalie Anthony Bellomo made seven saves in a standout effort, while Adam Kurman had an assist on English's goal.

Revenge victory

 

The Windham girls lacrosse teamwhich lost to Hanover by 10 goals two days earlier, bounced back to beat the same team 9-6. Ryane Farrell, Maggie Farrell and Mikayla Lindquist all scored two goals for the Jaguars.

Poff does it all

Matt Poff did it all for Pelham baseball. The senior threw a complete game, allowing just one run while striking out six, and also laced two doubles while driving in three in the Pythons' season-opening 5-1 win over Hanover.

Desmarais the hero

Riley Desmarais drained a 3-pointer with 11.3 seconds left to give Windham a 49-48 lead and the Jaguars went on to beat Hanover, 50-48. Desmarais led WHS with 13 points. Senior manager Scott DaSilva got his first varsity action with the start for Windham.

A Hanover player flew in on a breakaway midway through the second half, deked the goalie and had nothing but open turf between her and tying the game.

Fairbank sends Astros to semis

It took over 100 minutes to determine who was moving onto the boys soccer semis between Pinkerton and Hanover. After two overtime periods failed to yield a winner, the game went to PK's. Needing one more save to pick up the win, Pinkerton goalie Max Fairbanks got it done to lift Pinkerton to what would be a 1-0 victory in the Division 1 quarterfinals (3-2 in PK's).

2nd for Jaguars

Hanover and Windham seem to go back and forth every year for the Division 2 state golf title and yesterday at Rochester CC it was all Hanover, which beat the runner-up Jaguars 417-430. Saturday at Rochester at 10 a.m. will be round 2 to determine the D2 state open title.
