The Pentucket boys and girls track teams won a combined eight events at Saturday's Henry Sheldon Triton Classic, which combines both a program's boys and girls scores to find an overall winner. The Sachems finished third with 165 points, trailing Amesbury (250) and Triton (200).

BYFIELD – In its girls lacrosse match Friday afternoon at Triton, there was some confusion as to who scored Newburyport’s 13th goal when someone on the Clipper bench shouted out “when in doubt give it to Maggie.”

NEWBURYPORT – Having already posted a solid season start, the Pentucket boys lacrosse squad expects many more wins over the next five weeks. But few will prove more satisfying than Friday’s victory – especially for the Sachem seniors.

NEWBURYPORT – With an anemic .205 batting average through the season’s first three games, Newburyport was looking to do some offensive damage.

Pentucket's softball team won its first game of the spring, 12-6 over Newburyport. Sophomore pitcher Charlotte Latham allowed only five hits to pick up the win and Megan McCoy had a two-run homer and scored threee runs.

Pentucket's Madi Krohto delivered a stellar day, winning the high jump with a 5-4 and taking third in the 55 hurdles (8.91) at the Division 4 State Track Meet on Sunday. The Sachems took third as a team (31 points).

Angelina Yacubacci scored a game-high 15 points as Pentucket clinched at least a share of its fifth straight Cape Ann League Kinney title with a 56-34 victory over Newburyport. Jess Galvin added 12 points for the winners.

The Pentucket girls (69) placed second to North Reading (78.5) at the CAL Meet. Sachem winners were Madi Krohto (high jump), Syeira Campbell (school record 42.88 300 meters) and the 4x200 team of Krohto, Campbell, Emily Rubio and Kaley Enright. Krohto was named the Kinney Division MVP and meet MVP. 

Jack Clohisy shined for the Pentucket boys track and field team, taking first in the 55 hurdles in 7.98 to help the Sachems finish third at the Cape Ann League meet with 54 points. The Sachems starred on the relays, taking first in the 4x200 (1:37.46) and second in the 4x400 (3:41.56).
