Angelini paces Knights

 

Northern Essex Community College beat UMaine Augusta 82-58 to improve to 7-7. Will Angelini led the Knights with a season-high 19 points while Kyle Davis had 17 points and 13 rebounds and Matt Sifferlen had 12 points and eight assists. Also, Jarvis Castro chipped in with 10 points for the Knights and, in his best game of the season, Neph Carmona had eight points and nine rebounds.

McCallister nets 19

Richard McCallister netted 19 points to lead Phillips boys basketball 60-42 over St. Paul's in both team's season opener.

Cervizzi, Brooks drop finale

North Reading's Chris Cervizzi again impressed, returning a punt for a touchdown and rushing for 72 yards, but Brooks dropped its season finale to St. Paul's 34-6.

Cervizzi provided the Green and White's long score of the day, running a punt back 62 yards for the score. he also carried 17 times for his team-high 72 yards.

Novis' late goal paces Phillips Academy

Hailey Novis' goal with just 15 seconds left in regulation was the difference as Phillips Academy beat St. Paul's, 8-7, in girls lacrosse action yesterday. The junior defenseman potted a pair on the day, as did teammate Nekele McCall, a sophomore midfielder.

Hooper gives Brooks to 2OT win

Abby Hooper won the draw, broke down field and scored just 19 seconds into the second overtime to give Brooks a 13-12 comeback victory over St. Paul's. Brooks trailed 8-3 at halftime, but rallied back and Jill Doherty scored with 1:03 remaining to send the game into overtime.

Dolben, Brooks hold off St. Paul

Matt Dolben singled home a pair of runs in the top of the seventh, and Brooks was able to squash a six-run rally in the bottom of the inning, downing St. Paul's 7-6. Max Romanow added a two-run double in the fourth and Justin Freeman doubled home a run in the sixth.
