The Triton wrestling team was dominant in its opening quad-meet, sweeping Essex Tech, Wellesley and Belmont to start the season 3-0. Jared Durkin and Jeremy Duford pinned all three of their opponents, and Robi Ullah, Zander Rolfe, Shane Rooney and Kyle Noonan picked up their first varsity wins.

Julia Worden could not be stopped, scoring three times to lift No. 4 Central Catholic field hockey to a convincing, 6-1, victory over No. 5 Belmont in the Division 1 North quarterfinals. Caroline Pinho, Casey Thompson and Erin O'Neil were the Raiders' other goal-scorers.

The Andover swim team tuned up for Friday's MVC showdown with unbeaten Chelmsford with an easy 103-78 win over Belmont. Sophomores Eliza Williams and Emily Ma had big days for the Warriors (11-0).

Kelly Golini scored a goal and assisted on two others as No. 4 Methuen/Tewksbury did all of its scoring in the second period on the way to downing No. 29 Oakmont in the Division 2 preliminary round.

Liv Cross came up clutch with 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Alyssa Demeule nailed two free-throws late to give Pentucket a 37-35 win over Belmont. 

Stephen Stabile scored in the first half and unbeaten North Andover (4-0) held on to hand Belmont its first loss in boys soccer, 1-0.

Andover's swimming team remained unbeaten (5-0) with an 86-79 victory over Belmont as Aishik lala won both the 50 and 100 freestyle and was on the winning 200 freestyle relay. Nick Bradshaw was first in the 100 backstroke and was on two winning relay teams.

Freshmen Victoria Ambrose and Julia Donahue both won two individual events and were on the winning 400 freestyle relay team as the Andover swimming team clipped Belmont 96-84

Kelsi McNamara netted a team-high 14 points as Pentucket girls basketball won 48-42 over Belmont in the St. Mary's Tournament final.

McNamara was named the tourney's MVP.
