Acton-Boxboro usually gives the Andover swim team a good test, but not this year as the Golden Warriors won all but one event in a 103-81 victory. Freshman Michaela Chokureva won the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly and was on two winning relays to lead the way for the unbeaten Warriors (11-0).

Read More »Junior Kate Gemmell with 1:31 left in the half and No. 8 Andover toppled top-seeded archrival Acton-Boxboro, 1-0, in the Division 1 North quarterfinals. It was Andover's first shot of the game and the Golden Warriors only attempted two shots all game. Andover played with an extra sweeper and A-B got off 11 shots and won on corners as well by an 11-4 margin. Andover's extra sweeper was sophomore Alana Miller and she came up big. The defending state champions got a big game from Alison Gasperoni, who stopped 11 shots. Carissa Agostino, Joanna Archambault and Sydney Gregory also were stars on defense.
