Tyler Knox (106) and Peter D'Agostino (195) both had 15-second pins as Pentucket won its third straight, 45-36 over Malden Catholic. 

The Georgetown-Ipswich wrestling team took a convincing win over Malden Catholic on Wednesday, recording six pins in the 51-30 win. Heavyweight Nick Frongillo won the match of the day, pinning his opponent late in the third round (5:22), while Brandon Odle (106 pounds) and Troy Forgitano (120 pounds) finished their business quicky, pinning their opponents in 36 and 37 seconds respectively.

MALDEN - The last two weeks for Lawrence football have been centered around streaks - breaking them while starting new ones.

But after winning in back-to-back weeks to snap a 23-game losing streak, the Lancers couldn't string together their third straight victory Thursday night.

Chris Crowninshield won a 6-4, 6-4 marathon which took 2:45. At that point the match was tied so the freshman was the hero, giving Methuen a 3-2 win over Malden Catholic. He also clinched the win in an early-season match.

Will Winship scored Central Catholic's last two goals in a 3-2 win over Malden Catholic in the semifinals of the Springfield Tournament. Eric Lester and Sean Brown both had a pair of assists for the Raiders (14-4-3), who had been 0-7 against Malden Catholic over the last nine years.

haverhill sophomore Sam Prescott seemed eager to return to the mat Saturday. Out briefly with bruised ribs, Prescott came back strong at the Hillie duals, pinning five straight opponents at 145 as the Hillies finished second in the dual-meet tournament.

Just back from a broken hand suffered in the preseason, freshman Kelvin Davila scored a pair of wins at 145 pounds and another at 152 as Andover beat Malden Catholic (36-35), St. Paul's (39-30) and Bedford (45-35). Matt Meagher added three pins for the Warriors.

Christian Paniagua had a monster game for Greater Lawrence, scoring 35 points with three 3-pointers in a 72-52 loss to Catholic Conference power Malden Catholic.

Reece Millington remained on a roll as the postseason nears with four wins at 160 and Jake Prescott followed him by going 4-0 at 170 as Haverhill won three of four meets to improve to 18-10.
