Down by nine points with 2 minutes left against Newton South, the Central girls basketball team rallied to send the game into overtime. From there, the Raiders posted a 73-70 victory in the championship game of the Comcast tourney. This is the fourth straight year that Central has won the tourney.
"Everyone made spectacular plays down the stretch,"Central coach Sue Downer said.
Freshman Courtney Walsh hit a big 3-pointer late while also adding a huge late-game block.
Casey McLaughlin netted 19 points and was named the MVP of the tourney. Gabie Polce was selected for the all-tournament team. She led all Central scorers yesterday with 20 points.
