Odds and ends: Lawrence was probably the surprise of the state last year, posting five wins after three straight winless seasons. ... Lawrence doesn't have a girls team, but that hasn't stopped Lucy Francisco from starring for the boys team. ... Starting goalie Tyler Santacroce left the sport for the newly-started Lancer golf team. Coach Don Sheldon (2nd year, 5-11-2): "Last year we had a good season, we won five games, tied two, and competed in about six or seven others. We want to improve on that and make a run at the postseason this year. We are in a very difficult league. Over the last couple of years, if you look at this league, you could say it's been one of the best in the state."
