Odds and ends: Matt Regan, who graduated from Pelham in 2002, takes over for Chris Burns, who went 1-15 in his only season. Regan is also an assistant basketball coach and was the former head boys lacrosse coach at Pelham. ... The Pythons are fielding a JV team for the first time in four years. ... Danny Trainor plans on attending the Coast Guard Academy. He is also the football team's field goal kicker. ... Senior Shalva Merebashvili is a foreign exchange student from Russia. Trainor, Ricky Costa and Billy Sullivan are all three-sport athletes.

Coach Matt Regan (1st year): "I had a meeting with the three captains (Ricky Costa, Danny Trainor and Billy Sullivan). They told me they expect to make the playoffs and be a surprise team. I'm going to go with their word for it. My three leaders are all in three different positions on the field. That's a definite plus."
