Series record: Lawrence leads 7-4-1 overall and 6-2-1 on Thanksgiving.

Preview: Always a spirited holiday rivalry, the Reggies kick-started their 2007 success by knocking off a heavily-favored Lancers bunch in last year's Thanksgiving game.

Struggling Lawrence would love to repay the favor with the Reggies enjoying a breakout season.

Last year's battle was a classic, with the Reggies, behind Nate Adames, leaping to a big lead and then hanging on for their lives in a 2-point thriller. The speedy Adames is one of the most prolific backs in the state this fall.

"The kids on both sides definitely enjoy playing in this game," said Reggies coach Tony Sarkis. "These are their friends, the kids they've grown up with. A win in this game is more special than any other in the regular season."

The Lancers have attempted to make some strides as they grow up on the fly. They feature a talented passing attack out of the spread formation with quarterback Ramon Heredia putting up big numbers. Demitri Brown is his favorite target.

"Our guys can really set the tone for the future with a win on Thanksgiving," said Lawrence coach Yameen. "If we can beat a great team like Greater Lawrence and build off it, it would do wonders for the program."
