PLAISTOW, N.H. | The harder it rained, the harder Timberlane played.

After getting pounded by Winnacunnet for most of the first half, and falling behind 28-6 in the process, the Owls refused to fold as the special teams and the defense made plays the offense gladly cashed in. But after climbing to within a point during the worst of the night's deluge, a point-after kick was blocked with 4:15 left in the game, allowing the visiting Warriors to survive with a 35-34 victory.

The statistics point to nothing but a Winnacunnet blowout. The Warriors (6-2) ran 23 more plays than Timberlane (3-5) and held the ball for 18 minutes longer than the Owls (32:58 to 15:02). Behind the virtually unstoppable duo of running back Sam Auffant (33 carries, 210 yards, touchdown) and quarterback Ryan Cronan (22 carries, 142 yards, TD) along with two goal-line scores from junior Brett Sanchez, Winnacunnet pounded out 378 rushing yards.
