Ironic that it should be a Haverhill native to lead St. John's Prep in a 4-1 rout of Haverhill High, but that's exactly what happened as Jon Woelfel netted a hat trick in the second half in yesterday's Division 1 North first round.
Charlie Roche scored the lone goal for the Hillies, and Ryan McLeod was credited with the assist. Mike Ferragamo had four saves in goal.
St. John's was the beneficiary of fine play from Owen Fox (four assists), who was questionable to play in the game due to a strained back.
