Placing first for the rangers were much-improved Zabian Cruz (145), Dan O'Connell (182), Travis Manick (195) and heavyweight Bryce Smith.

A big plus for the Rangers was the performance of freshman Dom DiMaio, who placed third at 132 in his first varsity action. Billy Trainor (160) also took a third and coach Bill James was enthused by John Diaz, who took a fourth at 170.

Pentucket placed fifth in the Wakefield Tournament, and Georgetown-Ipswich took eighth. Pentucket's Tyler Knox took first at 106 pounds and Jason Young took second at 170, and for the Royals Ian Forgitano won at 113 and Matt Mansfield took second at 152.
