Valentino, two Astros champs in Rhode Island

North Andover's Joey Valentino remained undefeated, in impressive fashion, winning the 126-pound weight class in the rugged Cumberland, R.I. Tournament, taking a dominating major decision in the finals.

The Knights finished fourth as a team with CJ Cincotta taking second at 152, losing to the Connecticut No. 2-ranked wrestler in the finals, and Ethan Ford taking third at 113 to a top New ENgland placer from last year. Both Cincotta and Ford dropped their first matches of the year.

Also wrestling a superb tournament was 138-pounder Matt Berube, who finished third at 138, his only loss coming to the top seed.

The Knights finished one place ahead of Pinkerton, which had two champions in 145-pounder Tyler MacKiernan and 182-pounder Sterling McLaughlin. Robbie Fahey took second at 220 and Kyle Setzer was third at 170.
