Central Catholic, the No. 1 ranked team in EMass by the Boston Globe, beat Pope Francis, the No. 2 ranked team, 3-1 in the semifinals of the Pete Frates Holiday Classic. Will Winship, Noah Jankoswki and Steve Birch were the goal-scorers for the Raiders (3-0), and goalie Matt Pasquale had another terrific game despite allowing his first goal of the season with 1.7 seconds left in regulation.
Central will play St. John's Prep in the finals Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Essex Sports Center in Middleton.
