GEORGETOWN - Ipswich football had its way with Georgetown on Friday night, smashing the home team by a score of 53-6.

Georgetown came out strong, driving inside the Ipswich 15-yard-line before being stopped on 4th and 1 on the first drive before Ipswich fumbled on its first drive. But after that the Tigers took over, forcing another turnover on downs and then getting a 50-yard run from Pat Gillis to set up a 4-yard score by Ben Yanakakis.

Gillis scored from 1 yard out on the subsequent drive, and he wound up finishing with 134 yards rushing. Ipswich went into halftime leading 34-0, and Georgetown didn't get on the board until the fourth quarter, when quarterback Tommy Long found Hunter Lane for a 30-yard touchdown. Long finished with 143 yards passing, 83 of those to Lane, while the team combined to run for just 14 yards.
