McAlister runs Londonderry past Nashua North

LONDONDERRY — Londonderry quarterback Michael McAlister had a monster day, rushing for 136 yards and four touchdowns as the Lancers beat Nashua North 26-21 in a back and forth thriller Friday night.

Leading 20-7 with 5:38 to play, Londonderry almost fell apart late after Nashua North scored two touchdowns in the final five minutes, including a 56-yard fumble return to make it 21-20 with 3:05 left. But Londonderry answered on the following drive, with McAlister scoring from 9 yards out to pull ahead for good.

McAlister's first score was a 13-yard run with 1:28 to play in the first quarter. The two-point conversion failed, and Nashua North answered with a 53-yard pass by Mike Loveless to Austin Ouellette roughly a minute later to make it 7-6.

That remained the score until halftime, but Londonderry pulled ahead in the third when McAlister escaped for a 34-yard TD. Then with 5:38 left in the fourth, McAlister broke out for a 45-yard run to make it 20-7.

McAlister also went 3 for 9 passing with 32 yards, and Jeff Wiedenfeld rushed for 111 yards on 22 carries. 

Londonderry (3-0) is at Pinkerton next Friday at 7 p.m.
