2007 record: 4-16, didn't make Class I tourney

Returning starters (2): Jennifer Gray, Sr., 2B; April Blinn, Jr., C/CF

Returning lettermen: Jess Fanaras, Sr., 3B; Alie Peterson, Sr., C; Tina Baird, Jr., OF/INF; Cassie Flanders, Soph., P/3B; Amanda Levesque, Soph., P/1B; Kayla Bailey, Jr., P/OF

Newcomers: Stacey Chadwick, Sr., P/OF; Holly DeCarteret, Jr., 2B; Caity Doherty, Jr., INF/OF; Steph Winn, Soph., SS/2B; Jacqui Perry, Soph., 1B; Kelly Maglio, Soph., C; Kayle Aubrey, Frosh., OF; Amanda Blake, Frosh., C

Candidates in all grades: 29

Captains: Jennifer Gray, Alie Peterson, Jess Fanaras

Assistants: Mike Lozeau, Alison Lozeau, assistants; Kristen Janoscak, Paul Janoscak, JV

Opener: at Portsmouth April 7

Odds and ends: Todd Lozeau, who assisted at Bishop Guertin the last two years and is a 1999 Guertin graduate, takes over for Adam Steel, who had an 11-28 record in two years. ... Lozeau's top assistant is his father, Mike Lozeau, a former 12-year baseball coach at Guertin who has been teaching there for 30 years. Another assistant is his sister, Alison. ... Pelham's JV coaches, Kristen and Paul Janoscak, are a brother-sister pair. Paul is a senior football player at St. Anselm's. Kristen played softball at Southern New Hampshire. ... Sophomore Steph Winn will probably start at shortstop. ... The Pythons lost three-year pitcher Angela Ziogas to graduation.

Coach Todd Lozeau (1st year): "Our big question is pitching. We just need someone who will be consistent and I'm not sure yet who that will be. I think we have some good hitters with Jenn (Gray), (Jess) Fanaras and (Kayla) Bailey. April (Blinn) has a lot of speed and is probably my best athlete. She'll be our catcher or in center field. ... I think we have some depth and some athletic kids.  I'm confident we'll be better than last year."
