The Pelham football team struggled to find its rhythm on Friday, as the Pythons lost at home to Trinity 42-12.

Trinity (2-1) jumped out to a 22-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, making it 29-0 at halftime and further adding to the lead with a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns.

The highlight of the game offensively for Pelham (0-2) came late in the third quarter, when quarterback Trevor Gagnon found receiver Joe Halpin for a 72-yard touchdown pass. Pelham running back Peter Lawson added a 5-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter, but that was all the Pythons were able to muster.

Lawson finished with 50 yards rushing on nine carries, Trevor Gagnon went 10-for-30 with 150 yards passing, and Halpin had five catches for 103 yards.

Pelham hosts Milford next Saturday at 7 p.m.
