Owls stay on track

Winning for the fourth time in five games, Timberlane started fast and crushed Dover 41-7 for a dominating road victory.

Tyler Furey ignited the Owls with a pair of first-quarter touchdowns on runs of 6 and 8 yards, for all the first-half points Timberlane scored.

But that was more than enough offense as the defense forced three turnovers in the opening half. Austin Hall had an interception and recovered a fumble as did Raul Rodriguez.

The Owls recorded the first two scores after intermission on a 38-yard run by Jacob Post and a 21-yarder by Kyle Faucher, who added a 51-yarder later in the fourth quarter  before finishing with a game-high 119 yards on six carries. Justin berube capped Timberlane's scoring with a 1-yard plunge late in the game.

Quarterback Jason Hughes, who also completed three of his five passes for 50 yards, needed just six carries to accumulate his 113 yards while Furey (92 yards), Post (86) and Brandon Berube (52). As a team, the Owls totaled 488 yards on 23 carries for n average of 21.2 yards per attempt.

"We were balanced on offense," coach Kevin Fitzgerald said. "We had a bunch of guys getting touches and they were doing a good job."
