Mike Gleason was again a force in net, making 35 saves as No. 11 Haverhill continued its playoff run by upsetting No. 3 Winthrop 3-2 last night in the Division 2 North quarterfinals.
"Words can't explain how happy we are right now," said Hillies coach Joe Roberts. "We sang the Hillie fight song in the locker room after the game. It was amazing."
Haverhill now advances to play No. 2 North Reading on Wednesday in at the Chelmsford Forum. The time is TBA.
In addition to Gleason's heroics, Cam Berube, Rob Budds, Konnor Fitzpatrick each scored a goal as the Hillies clinched the win.
