Odds and ends: Numbers continue to grow for the Lancers. Two years ago, they started the season with 42 wrestlers, that jumped to 62 last year and it's 72 this year. ... Lawrence lost most of a talented upper-weight lineup. ... Sophomore Hugo Dominguez looks greatly improved after a summer of wrestling. ... Aaron Blanco missed most of last year with an injury. ... Junior heavyweight Pedro Cruz, a backup last year, has looked good in the preseason.

Coach Rob Niceforo (5th year, 45-38-1): "I basically lost everyone from 145 pounds and up, but we had some good backups paying their dues who should do OK. We should be competitive. We've improved our record every year I've been here and my goal is to improve again."
