With its matchup with historic rival and fellow unbeaten Phillips Exeter a week away, Phillips Andover hardly broke a sweat in its warmup, jumping out to a 34-point lead and rolling to a 47-14 drubbing of Worcester Academy yesterday afternoon.

"It was another excellent performance," said Big Blue coach Leon Modeste. "Everyone in the school is looking forward to next week, but we had to stay focused on Worcester and we did. And we came out heathy, which is so important with Exeter up next."

It was another big day for running back Ryder Stone, who carried 11 times for 173 yards and two touchdowns and returned a punt 65 yards for another score.

When he wasn't running over the competition, it was QB Ian Maag doing it with his arm. He competed 9 of 12 passes for 200 yards including touchdown passes to Brandon Michel, Matt Rusk-Kosa and Matt Ilalio.

The Phillips defense, meanwhile, spent the entire game in the Worcester backfield., with Mike DeLaus, Michael Moore and Bobby Needham recording four sacks apiece.

"They were in the spread so we just brought the heat all game," said Modeste. "We took care of buisness early, let some guys play and now we are ready to Exeter."
