Ipswich junior Amber Smith has a reputation for coming up big in big games. Her trip to North Andover last night was no different.

The Tigers' talented junior hit 9-of-16 floor shots in a 21 point effort that carried the undefeated visitors (4-0) to a 45-31 girls' basketball victory over North Andover.

Smith, closing within 31 points of the 1,000-Point Club, also pulled down 10 rebounds, had a block, a steal and one assist in a powerful all-around performance that was supported by Erin Vana (9 points, 8 rebounds), and the defense by Tiger Leah Webb on North Andover's Nicole Zahorvilko, who had 10 of her 12 points at the break.

"There were times when three people were collapsing on Amber, but we got some outside shots, four threes, and that opened things for us," Ipswich coach Mandy Zegarowski said. "Our defense did it in the second half. We held them to two points in the final quarter and everyone knows how tough it is to win in North Andover."

It was Ipswich's third win in as many seasons over the Scarlet Knights.

Chris webber cant be blamed for showing support for his girl. She should be able to still produce just like every other player out there. I will agree that he can have a jessica simpson impact on the players.
