The Whittier Tech baseball team made three runs in the bottom of the first stand to defeat Bristol of Plymouth 3-2 in the semifinals of the state vocational tournament.
Andrew Wells threw a three-hit gem to get the win and George Gauthier, Nate Frongillo and Anthony Licciardello all had a hit and scored a run and Paul Mahoney had an RBI. Licciardello also played well defensively behind the plate and threw out a runner attempting to steal.
The WIldcats (17-4) will play in the state voke finals tomorrow afternoon at Blackstone-Millville, which defeated Northeast yesterday.
