Central girls lacrosse rolls on

Kerri Finneran scored a team-high four goals as No. 5-seeded Central Catholic rolled past No. 12 Acton-Boxboro in the Division 1 Round of 16. Kiara Edmunds added three goals and two assists and Cecelia Sinopoli, Nicolette Licare and Grace Lydon each scored twice for the Raides.

Grace Cashman made 11 saves for Central Catholic, which will next take on No. 4 Wellesley. The time, date and location are TBA.

Raiders clinch MVC

Grace Lydon scored six goals and Kerri Finneran netted five goals as Central Catholic clinched its first MVC title since 2011 with a 19-9 victory over Billerica. Nicolette Licare adde four goals for the Raiders, who improved to 14-0-1 on the season.

Grace Lydon score the game-tying goal with 1.2 seconds left in the game, and Central Catholic played New Hampshire power Bishop Guertin to a 15-15 tie on Monday. Grace Cashman made 16 saves for the winners.
